Paul Nadeau, Jr. , CPA, MST
Partner, Private Client Services Group
As a Partner in our Private Client Services Group, Paul says that “every day is different”. He embraces the chance to help clients succeed, and loves that every day brings new challenges and opportunities. Find out why Paul chose KLR, and how our workplace has allowed him to be the best he can be—both in the office and at home.
How do you explain what you do to others not in the industry?
The best way I can explain what I do is that I am a part of a team of advisors focused on assisting private clients with their financial affairs including tax planning and compliance. I work closely with wealth managers, attorneys, and other advisors to develop strategic solutions that help our clients achieve their goals.
Describe a typical day for you
Every day is different and I love that. Most days I start out by reading a blog or an article on recent business developments or issues relevant to my clients. I next focus on prioritizing my work and focusing on the projects or questions that need my attention immediately. The rest of my day can vary between client meetings, projects with staff, and administrative tasks. I spend much of my day on the phone or responding to emails. A few times a month I also attend outside events to network with other professionals and potential clients. I always try to end the day unplugging from work and spending quality time with my family.
Why did you choose KLR?
I chose KLR because of their growth potential both in firm resources and for my own career. I like that we are big enough to have specialists in all services areas but small enough to make every client feel important to the firm. KLR’s workplace flexibility was also a huge attraction for me. The firm recognizes that everyone works differently and it motivates employees to do well in a way that works for them.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Hands down my favorite part is working with clients. I take a personal approach to my client relationships. I enjoy sitting down with them to learn their history, how they got where they are, and what their goals are for the future. Having an institutional knowledge of the client adds value to our relationship and helps us provide more than just tax or accounting services.
What are you passionate about?
Right now my life revolves around my daughters (Charlotte, 2 and Zoe, 6 months). I take a lot of pride in being a very involved Dad. They are a little young now for all of the sports and school activities but I can’t wait to coach the soccer team or cheer at their dance recitals. When I am home with my girls, I make it a point to unplug from my phone and focus on them.
