Job Responsibilities

As a key member of our Tax team, the Supervisor will utilize his/her technical skills and educational background and apply expertise on a variety of engagements with clients of the Firm. This role in our growing Tax practice includes managing client relationships as well as performing technical tax work. He/she will be responsible for the following:

Job Tasks:

  • Serve as client’s trusted advisor, demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to client and team.
  • Manage staff on engagement deliverables (such as tax returns, work papers, etc.); complete technical and strategic reviews as a member of the financial engagement review.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery and on budget
  • Utilize tax preparation software to prepare, review and process complex tax returns.
  • Prepare and review forms 990, 990-PF and 990-T and provide advice to clients regarding exempt organization and tax return issues.
  • Ensure both that clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and self and client service teams comply with all firm policies, and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines to match internal and client expectations for timely delivery of service.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply current tax practices
  • Identify when research is needed; clearly and concisely frame issues to be researched; clearly and concisely report the analysis.
  • Develop, train and supervise staff level team members.
  • Work closely with tax partners to satisfy the needs with planning compliance.

Job Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field preferred
  • CPA or CPA track
  • 5+ years of federal exempt organizations tax experience
  • Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent certification is preferred
  • Public Accounting Tax experience preferred
  • Strong skills in reviewing and compliance skills regarding 990, 990OPF and 990-information returns.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability, strong operational and project management skills

There will be increased hours during our peak season: January through April and August through October which will include weekends.
