The KLR Women’s Business Exchange held their second annual seminar in Boston at Simmons College on October, 29th, 2014. The session titled “Women and ‘the Vision Thing’ Done Right” was an impactful and career focused event for women in business.
“Professor Shapiro did an amazing job discussing a difficult topic” said Sandy Ross, CPA, Member of the KLR Women’s Business Exchange. “Not only was the discussion wonderful, I was able to connect with other talented women at the event.”
Cathy E. Minehan, Dean of the Simmons School of Management gave the opening remarks to the one hundred plus attendees in the room. She shared her insights on the history and future of Simmons College and their commitment to women’s success in business and the expansion of their education opportunities for undergraduates. Mary Shapiro presented and coordinated the workshop on identifying your vision and how to enlist the support of others to achieve your vision. The interactive nature of her presentation helped attendees craft and identify key components of their vision.
This was the second WBE event since the group was created. Last year’s program featured speaker Barbara Tannenbaum of Brown University at the Hope Club in Providence, RI.
